Technology has become so amazingly complex these days that it
boggles the mind. One telecommunications system may actually be
the sum of dozens of other component devices all of which have to
work together properly so you can complete your call, send your text
message, or send data where it’s supposed to go. That requires
testing and lots of it before the product hits the market.

That’s where F1 Interop Solutions comes in. F1 Interop
is a leading system integrator and independent test and
interoperability facility offering a complete suite of
testing services for IP (VoIP) / Packet Cable and other
next-generation advanced services.
F1 Interop Solutions was founded in 2005 by Mark
Scafidi and Art Beall. They met while at CISCO
Systems where they were involved in interoperability
testing. They recognized a need for an independent
testing facility that would provide cost-effective, off-site,
unbiased testing of the functionality, quality, performance
and security of components manufactured by different
companies while ensuring compliance with internal and
industry standards.

Mark met Bob Gibbons of Reata
Commercial Realty at the health
club where they both chase their
youth…in vain, of course. Through
that relationship Mark asked Bob to
find F1 Interop a property which had
previously been used as a
computer lab in Plano. That search
eventually turned up the right space
and F1 Interop now occupies a floor
and a half of an office building in
East Plano.
F1 Interop’s offering includes solution for MSO’s, enterprise businesses, service providers and product
manufacturers. F1 Interop’s services include automation consulting, security testing, protocol testing,
stress and performance testing, feature and feature interaction testing.
F1 Interop’s state-of-the-art test lab provides equipment manufacturers, MSOs and service providers with
solutions that connect legacy and next generation services. This allows a unique environment to evaluate
and test VoIP/ Packet Cable products and services and the means to accelerate features and new
multimedia services time-to-market.
